Why Latvia

According to the agency, September and October are the key months for passage in Latvia, and hunting is allowed every day. Outings take place on lakes along a very good migration route.

Game and seasons

Seasons are set by local rules and can change. For this destination:

Ducks (wigeon, gadwall, pintail, teal, mallard, tufted duck, shoveler)	September and October
Geese (greylag, white-fronted, bean)	September and October

Dates must be confirmed with the agency for the current season: local authorities can change the periods.

How it works

• The hides: for up to 3 hunters each, placed on the lake shore or in the middle, depending on the wind.
• Times: from half an hour before dawn until about 11:00.
• Length: the package is 3 hunting days with 4 nights.

Documents and firearms

The rules are set by the authorities and differ from country to country. If a package does not say which documents are included, ask the agency. In general, organisers ask for:

• ID card or passport (for some destinations, a copy to be sent in advance).
• A valid hunting licence from your own country.
• Hunting insurance valid abroad.
• If you bring your own gun: the firearm paperwork and, for hunters from EU countries, the European Firearms Pass listing the guns (usually two at most). Hunters living outside the EU should ask the agency what applies to them.

The required documents, the procedures for bringing or renting a gun and the entry rules depend on your nationality and the package you choose. If they are not shown on the package page, ask the agency before booking.
